Thank you for participating in this extended climate survey. Here we will ask you several questions about different ways that you may be impacted by weather, climate, and climate change in the Highlands.
First, we'll ask you to choose a single place to comment on. You can fill out this survey multiple times about multiple places, but each instance will need to be about one specific place. If you are not sure what place to comment on, take a look at the list of places below.
Please skip questions that do not apply.
Please keep your answers anonymous. After your submission, you will be asked for your email and some basic demographic information. This is to help us ensure a balanced group of people has been reached.
If you have questions or concerns while completing the survey, please let us know.
First, we would like you to think about times when you have experienced different weather conditions in this place. In general, we are interested in experiences within the last 10 years.
Next, we'd like you to think about how you access or move around in this place. For some places (for example, transportation routes), these questions are the most important. For others, they may not be. Please skip questions that do not feel relevant.
Now we would like you to think about how well outdoor spaces are suited for people. The next section will focus on supporting nature in outdoor spaces.
This section is about how nature is supported in outdoor spaces. This question will be particularly relevant if you are commenting on an environmental feature, for example.
This section is about how indoor spaces (including buildings and infrastructure) handle different weather conditions. This section may not be relevant to you if you are commenting on a place that is entirely outdoors or undeveloped.
This section asks you to think about how people interact and support each other in this place. For some places, it will be easy for you to define the applicable community or family. For others, it may be less clear. For example, for a business, you could think about the community as the staff or as the customers. Either is fine and it is helpful if you define this in your answer.
This section will be most important for places that are businesses or service providers. If the place does not fall into one of these groups, you could think of those services or businesses that support your place.
Think about the ways that this place will be impacted by climate change in the future. It is okay if you don't know exactly how it will be impacted. We are interested in hearing about what you know now.
for completing this survey. Remember, you can complete it multiple times for multiple places. We hope you will stay in touch so that we can share the findings of our risk and opportunity assessment with you. Don't forget to click "next" to submit your response.
